Helen and Matt...

This piece is an engagement ring for a long time friend, best friend from high school actually, so the pressure was on with this one. Helen’s now fiancĂ©, Matt, out of the blue one day sent me a facebook message saying that he’d like to pop the question to Helen and would like me to make the ring. I was thrilled to hear to this! But also in the back of my head thinking “it’s about time Matt, it’s only been 10 plus years” J

Anyway I met up with Matt in secret to see what his thoughts were for a ring for Helen… much to my surprise he responded with “Helen said that when I decided to ask her, she would have told you what she wanted”. In my head I’m thinking “s*#t how do I approach this subject with Helen without it being obvious that Matt’s already come to me”. Literally next day a text comes from Helen suggesting a coffee catch-up… and yep as you guessed it, in amongst our catch-up she asked if when the time came could I make her engagement ring. She then proceeded to tell me that she wants it to somehow be an infinity/eternity symbol. They swear they had no idea either of them were talking to me about this at the same time… the serendipitous nature of it all gives me goose bumps and butterflies.

So with much stress and anxiety surrounding whether Helen would love what I came up with I knuckled on down and created this piece… an eternity of love Helen and Matt. It was an honour and pleasure to make this for you.
